ANC wishes Cde Gwede Mantashe, our Secretary General, a speedy recovery

The African National Congress (ANC) wishes the Secretary General, Gwede Mantashe, a speedy recovery, after having been admitted to Botshelong Hospital yesterday evening, 30th October 2011, for routine check-up after he had undergone a minor operation a week ago at the same hospital.

Cde Gwede has since midday today, the 31th October 2011, been transferred to Sunward Park Private Hospital in (Boksburg) Ekurhuleni for special scanning purposes. The Provincial leadership of the ANC in Gauteng, led by Cde Paul Mashatile, have already visited Cde Gwede at the hospital.

The ANC National leadership, led by the Deputy President, Cde Kgalema Motlanthe, has also visited Cde Secretary General today.

The ANC would like to assure members of the ANC, our supporters and our Alliance partners as well as all South Africans that the SG is recovering well in hospital and we expect him to be discharged soon. He is also in very high spirits.
